An autumn of meetings and European projects for EPC

The beginning of autumn is always a busy month in the world of European project planning, filled with meetings and gatherings. This year was no exception, and we at EPC always enjoy events and meetings that take us around Italy and Europe and give us the opportunity to meet our partners, clients, and many professionals from a wide range of sectors.

This time, we started close to home, with a partnership meeting in the presence of the Life Svolta Blu project – “Voluntary credit system to promote water saving and conservation,” organized on September 18th at the ViAcqua SpA headquarters. Francesca Borga and Federica Piccolo, representatives of the project lead partner support service, participated on behalf of EPC.
A few days later, on September 23 and 24, our Mauro Borin was in Lecce for the Project Meeting and Mid-Term Review of the ALIENA Project – “ALIgning Efforts to Control Non-indigenous Species in the Adriatic Sea,” an Interreg Italy-Croatia project for which we provide technical assistance to the Puglia Region, the lead partner. Like many other Interreg projects, Italy-Croatia projects also include a mid-term review meeting with Program delegates to identify any difficulties or risks in implementing activities. In these cases, EPC experts naturally support the coordinator and project partners in organizing and managing these meetings.

A few days later, it was the turn of another Interreg Italy-Croatia project, CYROS – Adriatic Ionian Cycle Route for Sustainable Tourism. On September 29th and 30th, a meeting was held in Abruzzo to review the progress of the project, dedicated to the construction of a cross-border cycle path in the Adriatic-Ionian area and the promotion of sustainable tourism based on integrated mobility.

In parallel, the kick-off meeting of the LIFE SKEMA project—Skill Ecosystem, Market-driven learning and Advanced training for green and smart installers—was held in Rome on September 30th and October 1st. This four-year project officially launched on September 1st, 2025, in which EPC participates as a partner.

The project, coordinated by ENAIP Nazionale and supported by a significant network of partners and stakeholders, has the ambitious goal of innovating the training of technicians and installers working in the construction sector, actively supporting the ecological transition and the competitiveness of the construction industry. EPC was represented at this meeting by Dr. Francesca Borga, Architect Raffaella Lioce, and Dr. Logan Kirk: a large and highly qualified team that highlights the importance our company places on this new and ambitious challenge.

And that’s not all: on the 15th and 16th, we were in Nova Gorica to participate in the transnational meeting and inspirational workshop of the Interreg Central Europe EnCLOD project. EPC was represented by Dr. Manuela Massi, Dr. Francesca Borga, and architect Luca Lodatti, who support the lead partner, the Province of Vicenza, both in coordinating the overall project and in implementing the pilot project in the Vicenza area. Topics covered at the Nova Gorica workshop included sessions on smart traffic and air quality sensor networks, presentations of real-world smart city examples, microzoning for territorial governance, hackathons based on IoT data, urban flows interpreted through advanced analytics, and pilot projects in several program cities.

Furthermore, this meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the recently published call for capitalization by the Interreg Central Europe program, a key opportunity to propose and fund new ideas for collaboration and territorial innovation!
