EPC participates in the “Open Data Serving the Territory: Towards Effective Local Governance” event

On June 10, 2025, Villa Fabris in Thiene (VI) hosted the event “Open Data Serving the Territory: Towards Effective Local Governance”, organized by the Province of Vicenza, in collaboration with IUAV and ALDA+. The initiative, part of the Interreg Central Europe project EnCLOD – Enhancing Governance Capacities of Local Authorities using Open Data, aimed to strengthen the skills of local actors and promote a culture of open data in territorial governance.

European Project Consulting (EPC), which supports the Province of Vicenza in coordinating the project, actively participated in the event, with Francesca Borga, Project Manager at EPC, taking part as a speaker to provide an overview of the project’s main activities and objectives.

Throughout the morning, participants had the opportunity to hear from other experts, including Vincenzo Patruno (ISTAT), who shared insights on the use of open data for a more efficient public administration. The session also focused on the state of open data in the Veneto Region, with a presentation by Idelfo Borgo (Regione del Veneto) and a local best practice example presented by Nicola Piva (Municipality of Bologna). To conclude the morning session, Francesco Bruzzone (UniversitΓ  Iuav di Venezia) presented the pilot initiatives of the EnCLOD project, aimed at promoting more accessible and sustainable mobility in the Vicenza area.

In the afternoon, a training session was held, conducted by Francesco Bruzzone, focused on the use of open data in relation to key issues such as climate, mobility, and territorial transformations, with an emphasis on how to integrate them into urban planning. The session recorded high participation from representatives of municipalities in the Vicenza area, as well as numerous professionals and local stakeholders, who had the opportunity to deepen key topics for the development of more modern and inclusive public policies.
