After four years of activities, the European Cities2030 project has reached its conclusion. The initiative involved more than 40 partners from over 19 countries, with the objective of supporting the transition towards more sustainable, resilient and inclusive food systems.

In a context characterised by increasing environmental and social pressures, the project supported cities, local authorities and other stakeholders in addressing the challenges associated with the transformation of urban food systems, promoting integrated policies and long-term strategies.

EPC’s Role in the Cities2030 Project

EPC S.r.l. played a central role in the coordination of the project, managing project activities and facilitating effective cooperation among the numerous partners and stakeholders involved.

Drawing on its experience in managing complex European projects, EPC contributed to the coordination of the partnership and supported continuous dialogue among public authorities, research institutions, businesses, civil society organisations and food supply-chain operators.

Tools and Solutions for Resilient Food Systems

Working in the field of food systems and natural resources, Cities2030 helped cities overcome the main barriers affecting the transformation of local food supply chains.

The project provided cities and local authorities with tools, methodologies and guidelines to:

• respond to growing food demand;
• improve food safety and accessibility;
• strengthen the resilience of local food systems;
• promote sustainable production, distribution and consumption models;
• develop effective long-term urban food policies.

Together with the project partners, EPC S.r.l. contributed to identifying practical solutions to these complex challenges and supporting the more sustainable management of food resources.
