📍 June 10, 2025 | Villa Fabris, Thiene (VI)
How can Open Data become a concrete tool to make public policies more effective and promote the sustainability of territories? This question will be answered by the event “Open Data at the service of the territory: for effective local governance”, which will be held on June 10, 2025 at Villa Fabris in Thiene (VI).
The event is part of the European project EnCLOD – Enhancing Governance Capacities of Local Authorities using Open Data, funded by the Interreg Central Europe program and is organized by the Province of Vicenza, in collaboration with IUAV and ALDA+. European Project Consulting (EPC), as external consultant of the Province for the technical coordination of the project, will actively participate in the event with a general presentation of the EnCLOD project by Francesca Borga, Project Manager of EPC. The main objective of the event will be to stimulate the culture of Open Data and promote a participatory approach to territorial governance.
The morning session will open with institutional greetings from Roberto Ciambetti, President of the Regional Council of Veneto, Andrea Nardin, President of the Province of Vicenza, and Filippo Negro, Vice President of the Province of Vicenza. This will be followed by the presentation of the EnCLOD project, by Francesca Borga of EPC, who will illustrate the main activities and objectives of the project. A speech by Vincenzo Patruno (ISTAT), an expert in Open Data, will show how Open Data can represent a concrete tool for a more transparent and effective public administration.
The second part of the morning, moderated by Nadia Di Iulio (ALDA+), will focus on the role of Open Data for territorial development and competitiveness. Speakers include Idelfo Borgo (Veneto Region) with an overview of the state of Open Data in the region, Nicola Piva (Municipality of Bologna) with an example of local good practice, and Giorgia Zunino (Hedu-x ETS Foundation), who will explore how to govern with data.
Closing the morning session, Francesco Bruzzone (IUAV University of Venice) will present the pilot intervention of the EnCLOD project, focused on data collection to optimize winter salting of roads in mountainous areas, saving resources, improving road safety and reducing environmental impact.
In the afternoon, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, will follow a training module, led by Francesco Bruzzone (IUAV), dedicated to the use of Open Data in relation to climate, mobility and territorial transformations: how to search for them, interpret them and integrate them into urban planning.
