Project Management, Financial Management, and Project Coordination of KLANG2 – Mines, Furnaces, Forges, Swords.
Support services to the lead partner for project management, operational monitoring, management of partnership relations, and administrative and financial assistance for reporting.
KLANG2 aims to complete the study, begun by the previous KLANG project, on the production of bladed weapons in the eastern Alpine region, examining sword manufacturing in the Feltre area and iron mining in the mines of Tyrol, the upper Belluno area, and South Tyrol. Objectives include historical and archaeological research on ancient ironworking techniques, toponymic studies to locate medieval smelting furnaces, and archaeometric analyses of metal artifacts.
The partnership includes the Municipality of Feltre (Lead Partner), the Bellunese Culture and Press Club, the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Innsbruck (Austria), the Istitut Cultural Ladin Cesa de Jan of Colle Santa Lucia and the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
