The BLUECIRCLE project aims to address the problem of beached waste in an innovative way, transforming an environmental issue into an opportunity to promote the circular economy. Specifically, the initiative aims to test the technical feasibility of a system that allows for the collection and treatment of beached waste directly on the beaches of the Adriatic-Ionian region. This system will be able to separate the various materials present in the waste, thus enabling its recycling and reintroduction into new supply chains.
The partnership includes the Department of Environment, Landscape and Urban Quality, the Puglia Region, the Department of Civil, Environmental, Land, Building and Chemical Engineering, the Polytechnic University of Bari, the Municipality of Nikolaos Skoufas (GREECE), the City of Kastela (CROATIA), the Regional Council of Durres (ALBANIA), the Municipality of Neum (BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA), and the Municipality of Budva (MONTENEGRO).
